Notification: We will notify you by email, phone, and/or text the week prior to your selected opening week to confirm your pool opening day.

Scheduling: We make every effort to facilitate your pool opening during your requested week. Weather conditions or other factors may cause delays, and pool openings may need to be rescheduled. If we are unable to accommodate your selected week, we’ll notify you with an alternate date.

Pool Opening Services:  Any services required to complete the pool opening that were not selected on the submitted opening form, will be completed at the discretion of our service team and invoiced separately.

Our comprehensive “Summerization” service is designed to ensure that your in-ground pool and spa is expertly transitioned from winter dormancy to summer readiness. 

“Summerization” includes removal of all winterizing plugs, re-assembling the filtration system, installing diving boards and handrails, inspecting and starting the equipment and related systems and installing any other equipment removed during the winterization process.  

We offer customized pool and spa opening options based on your specific setup. Each tier reflects the time and detail required to ensure a smooth, complete opening. Additional charges apply for specialty features like vanishing edges, which require extra care.

Advanced Water Features

We offer specialized setup and testing for advanced water features and systems that require expert attention during pool and spa openings. Each selected feature will be carefully reassembled, activated, and evaluated to ensure proper operation and optimal performance. Each item below is subject to a $45.00 service fee except for Solar Heating systems at a cost of $125. If your system does not include any of these features, simply select “No advanced features.”

Pool and Spa Opening - Safety Cover Removal (Optional)

If selected as part of your Pool Opening, our technicians will carefully detach and remove the safety cover, lower all anchors, fold the cover, and place it into a storage bag - provided the bag is clearly visible and accessible. We will also store related items such as winterizing plugs and hardware in the same container or storage bag to keep everything organized for future use. 

Safety Cover removal is only available when paired with “Summerizing of In-Ground Pools” service. It is not offered as a standalone service.

Important Pre-Opening Reminder. Prior to your scheduled pool opening, please ensure that all standing water and debris are removed from the cover and that any required items (such as storage bags or equipment) are clearly visible and accessible. If these conditions are not met, or if any items are missing or inaccessible, a return visit may be required to complete the opening - return visits are billed at an additional cost of $130.00.

Pool Opening - Start-up Chemical Kits (Optional)

To ensure a clean, balanced, and trouble-free start to your pool season, we highly recommend adding a start-up chemical kit to your opening service. These kits are designed to support proper water chemistry during the critical early days of filtration and circulation.

If selected, our technicians will add the start-up chemical kit at Opening. After Opening, it is the customer's responsibility to complete the essential tasks of testing and balancing the water regularly and running the filtration system for 24 to 48 hours or until the water is clear.  Then backwash filter, if necessary, based on pressure readings and flow to maintain chemical balance and prevent early-season issues (excludes cartridge filters).  Unless selected, all pools and spas will be opened without start-up chemical kits.

Pool Opening - Vacuum Service (Optional)

While our Summerizing Pool Opening service restores circulation, removes winterizing components, and prepares your system for operation, it does not include vacuuming. Many pools contain visible dirt, leaves, or debris at the bottom after winter, which can affect water clarity, chemical balance, and filtration efficiency.

To support a cleaner and safer start to your season, we offer Vacuum Service as an optional add-on service. This service includes manual vacuuming to remove accumulated debris from the pool floor, helping accelerate water clarity and reduce strain on your equipment.

Please note: Pools will be opened without vacuum service unless this option is selected.  This Pool Opening - Vacuum Service does not include chemical balancing, salt addition, or auxiliary treatments.

Return Services After Pool Opening

Includes Return VAC Service Treatment and our Summer Maintenance Program

Recommended for Optimal Water Quality and Safety. A Pool Opening service does not guarantee your pool will be immediately ready for swimming. Additional cleaning and chemical balancing may be necessary in the days following the Pool Opening to achieve safe and optimal water quality and this is why we offer Return VAC Service Treatment for pools and spas requiring follow-up care.

Return VAC Service Treatment

Our Professional Return VAC Service Treatment is designed to restore water clarity, balance, and circulation following pool opening or periods of inactivity. This comprehensive service is usually scheduled for three (3) business days after your Pool/Spa Opening includes:

• Brushing of pool surfaces, including walls, steps, and tile lines
• Vacuuming debris from the pool floor
• Inspection of circulation and filtration systems, backwash if necessary 
• Water testing and adding balancing chemicals, as needed (additional charge for chemicals)
• A detailed service sheet left at your residence after each visit

If selected, the first Return VAC Service Treatment will be added to your Pool Opening charges at checkout. Each visit incurs a $120 service fee, plus the cost of any shock, balancing, or auxiliary chemicals applied. All chemical charges will be itemized and billed separately.

It remains the customer’s responsibility to regularly test the water, run the filtration system for at least 12 hours per day and backwash the filter, as needed based on pressure readings and flow (cartridge filters excluded), and perform routine maintenance to maintain ideal swimming conditions.

Notice to our Existing Weekly and Bi-Weekly Service Customers: Weekly and Bi-Weekly Service customers currently enrolled in our Summer Maintenance Program will automatically receive Return VAC Treatment Services following their pool opening. Each visit is billed at $120, plus the cost of any chemicals delivered or added.

2026 Summer Maintenance Program

This seasonal service is recommended following your pool opening. Regular maintenance helps prevent issues before they become major problems, ensuring you can enjoy a clean and healthy pool all season long. This program provides scheduled weekday visits on a weekly or bi-weekly basis throughout the Spring, Summer, and Fall pool season. 

It is recommended to start your Weekly or Bi-Weekly Service shortly after your pool opening. This ensures that your pool remains in optimal condition and that any necessary maintenance and chemical balancing are promptly addressed. 

During each service, our technicians perform routine cleaning and system checks. Each service typically includes skimming debris from the surface, vacuuming the pool floor, brushing walls, steps, and tile lines, testing and adjusting water chemistry for proper balance, backwashing filters as needed based on pressure readings and flow, and inspecting pumps, filters, heaters, and other equipment to confirm proper operation.

The cost of each visit is $120, plus the cost of any balancing or auxiliary chemicals added or delivered and billed monthly.

Pool Opening - General Conditions and Acknowledgement

• We will notify you by email, phone, and/or text the week prior to your selected pool opening week, typically (Wed, Thurs or Fri) with your scheduled opening date.
• We will make every effort to facilitate your pool opening during your requested week. Weather conditions or other factors may cause delays, and pool openings may need to be rescheduled.
• If we are unable to accommodate your selected week, we will notify you of an alternate date.

Service Requirements – Before Arrival
Please ensure the following are ready to avoid delays:

• Water Level: Filled at least halfway up the tile line or into the skimmer
• Equipment: Baskets, ladders, handrails, etc. placed in plain sight near the pool
• Power: Breakers turned on; power available to all pool equipment
• Access: Electrical panels and automation controls accessible
• Water Supply: Outdoor spigots turned on
• Safety Cover: Free of standing water and debris (if cover removal selected)
• Safety Cover Storage: Anchors and storage bags accessible
• Entry: Gates and entryways unlocked
• Pets: Secured indoors during service
• Start-Up Chemicals: Lilly Pools does not add customer-supplied pool-opening chemicals kits. These must be added by customers after pool opening service is completed.

Important Service Conditions

• Service options not selected on your opening form may be completed at our discretion and invoiced separately.
• Questions or concerns must be reported within 3 business days of service.
• Accounts must be current to receive service. A 1.5% monthly finance charge applies to balances over 30 days.
• You do not need to be home, as long as all equipment, water, and access are available.
• We are not responsible for any delays caused by weather or by ground conditions around the pool that may limit access, pose safety risks, or prevent service from being completed.

🛠️ Repairs & Safety
Any repair recommendations during the opening service will be noted on your opening door tag or on a service checklist. We will contact you via phone, email or text before proceeding with any non-urgent repairs. If any immediate repairs are necessary for safety reasons, the pool technician will attempt to take appropriate measures to ensure safety for everyone (see safety notice).
